Qatar's swimming team starts Asian Games campaign in Japan on Sunday

Qatar's national swimming team will start its campaign at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 on Sunday, September 20, 2026, in Tokyo, Japan. Three swimmers will compete on the opening day: Mohamed Mahmoud in the 200m individual medley, Ali Tamer in the 100m freestyle, and Abdullah Al Ghamri in the 100m backstroke. The team will also participate in the 4x200m freestyle relay on Monday. Qatar's delegation includes 427 members, with 243 athletes. The swimmers aim to improve personal bests after winning 26 medals at the 2026 Gulf Games.
