Malaysia's Sepang circuit hosts Bahrain Grand Prix after war cancels original race

Formula 1 returned to the Sepang circuit in Malaysia this weekend for a one-off event titled the Bahrain Grand Prix. The original race in Bahrain was cancelled due to the war in the Middle East, and Bahraini organisers paid the hosting fees to have the race held in Malaysia. The Sepang circuit hosted F1 from 1999 to 2017 before withdrawing. In the previous race, George Russell won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, finishing ahead of Max Verstappen and narrowing the gap to championship leader Kimi Antonelli. The race is broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK and streamed on Apple TV in the US.
