On Wednesday, Romania's interim Agriculture Minister, Tánczos Barna, held a press conference to reject accusations that his ministry had not maintained dialogue with farmers over the past months. He emphasized constant communication since May, when disease outbreaks began, and since June, when the European Commission issued decisions. Barna detailed international efforts, including talks with Turkey to ease transit restrictions, and domestic measures such as an action plan and support schemes for farmers. He mentioned that the most advanced support measure, DR-21, has been adapted from a previous program. The minister also noted that an initiative will be presented to the Council of Ministers on September 28.
