On October 5, 2026, Thailand's Board of Investment announced that its Long-Term Resident (LTR) visa program, launched four years ago, has attracted 12,010 high-potential foreigners and generated approximately USD 1.28 billion in economic value. The visa targets executives and highly skilled professionals, with the largest number of recipients from the United States, Japan, and the United Kingdom. The program includes categories for highly skilled professionals, remote workers, wealthy global citizens, pensioners, and dependents. To handle rising applications, the BOI launched a digital processing portal in September 2026 and established a one-stop service center in Bangkok.
