Business confidence rebounds sharply among American companies in China

The American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai released the 2026 China Business Report, revealing a significant rebound in business confidence among member companies. 58 percent of respondents expressed optimism about their business outlook in China over the next five years, a 17 percentage point increase from the previous year. Additionally, 78 percent reported profitability in 2025, the highest since 2019, and 28 percent increased their investments in China, reflecting a positive shift in market sentiment.
