England leg-spinner Adil Rashid ruled out of Sri Lanka ODI series with hand injury

England's veteran leg-spinner Adil Rashid has been ruled out of the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka due to a right hand injury sustained while fielding during the T20 series finale on Saturday. The 38-year-old, who has 243 ODI wickets, will miss the series opener at Chester-le-Street on Tuesday, as well as the matches at Headingley and the Kia Oval. His absence opens the door for Rehan Ahmed, a 22-year-old leg-spinner mentored by Rashid, to lead the spin attack. England captain Harry Brook expressed confidence in Ahmed's ability to step up.
