Indonesia's counterterrorism police arrest 11 suspects linked to terrorist networks in six provinces

Indonesia's counterterrorism police, Densus 88, arrested 11 people suspected of links to terrorist networks in raids across six provinces between October 1 and 2, 2026. The suspects, aged 22 to 52, were arrested in West Java, Central Java, Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Riau, and North Maluku. They are believed to be affiliated with Daulah Islamiyah, a local term for groups inspired by the Islamic State. The arrests were announced on October 4. Investigations revealed roles in recruitment, training, and propaganda, including online meetings. The operation is part of ongoing efforts to prevent terrorist attacks, as Indonesia has not experienced a major attack since 2022.
