Azerbaijan's President Aliyev opens Turkish-backed pharmaceutical plant in Pirallahi Industrial Park

On October 5, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan inaugurated the Gen Pharma pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Pirallahi Industrial Park, Baku. The plant, a joint venture with Turkish companies, has an annual capacity of 60 million boxes of medicines. It will produce various medications and aims to reduce import dependence. The project, valued at 113.9 million manats, will employ 178 people and plans to export to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Georgia. The park was established in 2016 to support the pharmaceutical industry.
