Prague selects SMP Construction to build 6.2 billion crown Smíchov transport hub

Prague city councillors approved a contract worth 6.2 billion Czech crowns (excluding VAT) for a consortium led by SMP Construction to build a new transport terminal at Smíchov railway station. The terminal will connect trains, metro, city and intercity buses, and trams. The city is responsible for relocating bus services from Na Knížecí to a platform above the railway. The original estimated cost was 7.12 billion crowns. The councillors also approved re-tendering the construction supervision contract after the previous tender was cancelled. The railway station modernization, handled by Správa železnic, began in late 2023.
