Nigerian Army, State Security, and Amotekun Kill Islamic State West Africa Province Leader in Ondo State

In Nigeria, a combined team of Army, DSS, and Amotekun operatives killed ISWAP leader Abdussamad Ohida in Owo forest, Ondo State, over the weekend. Ohida, who had planned attacks during the festive season and to disrupt the 2027 elections, was eliminated along with other terrorists. He had succeeded Abu Ikrimah as ISWAP's leader in central and southern Nigeria. The operation was supported by UK intelligence. Ohida was responsible for several attacks, including the 2025 police station invasion and the 2022 Kuje prison break. His death is a significant blow to ISWAP's operations in Nigeria.
