Nigeria's Foreign Minister Urges African Nations to Prioritize Trade in Diplomacy at Egypt Forum

At the Africa-Alamein Business Forum in Egypt, Nigeria's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, called on African nations to place trade and economic cooperation at the centre of Pan-African diplomacy. He highlighted Nigeria's economic reforms since 2023, including fuel subsidy removal and foreign exchange unification, which have led to 4.43% growth and reduced inflation. He also discussed the African Continental Free Trade Area and proposed five priority actions for African countries. The forum, organized by Egypt, Afreximbank, and AUDA-NEPAD, runs until October 4, 2026.
