Germany mandates digital payment acceptance in businesses

In Germany, the Ministry of Finance has proposed a mandate for businesses to accept digital payments. This initiative aims to provide consumers with the option to pay via cards or mobile devices, addressing the growing trend towards cashless transactions. Currently, 45% of transactions are still conducted in cash, particularly among older individuals and those with limited digital experience.
