Angela Scanlon to host BBC Radio 2 Drivetime show in the United Kingdom starting November

BBC Radio 2 in the United Kingdom has announced that Angela Scanlon will take over the weekday Drivetime show from November. She replaces Sara Cox, who moved to the Breakfast Show after Scott Mills was dismissed. Scanlon, an Irish presenter who competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2023, previously hosted a Sunday early morning programme on Radio 2. She expressed excitement about the new role, and Radio 2 controller Helen Thomas praised her warmth and wit. The Drivetime slot airs from 4pm to 7pm on weekdays.
