Meryl Streep cast as Aslan in Greta Gerwig's Narnia adaptation

Meryl Streep has been cast to voice Aslan in Greta Gerwig's adaptation of "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew." This decision has generated controversy, particularly among conservative Christian groups concerned about a female actor voicing a traditionally male character. The film is scheduled for release in February, but independent confirmation of the reactions remains limited.
