At a ceremony in Posušje, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Tomo Medved presented certificates of appreciation to 31 units of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) during the 32nd anniversary of the Association of Volunteers and Veterans of the HVO Herceg-Bosna. Medved stated that the HVO played a decisive role in the survival of Croats and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that without it, the country would not exist in its current form. He also emphasized the need for full constitutional equality of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Additionally, he announced upcoming amendments to Croatian laws that would increase pensions for over 200,000 veterans, including HVO members.
