Shein reports 50.4% drop in operating profit for first half of 2026 after Hong Kong listing

Shein, the Chinese-founded fast-fashion company, reported a 50.4% drop in operating profit for the first half of 2026. Net income attributable to shareholders was $2.3 billion, up from $1.1 billion a year earlier. The results were announced on Monday, following its Hong Kong Stock Exchange debut this month, where it raised $1.7 billion but saw its stock fall 27%. Executive chairman Sky Xu cited tariff obstacles and logistics cost volatility as ongoing challenges, while remaining cautiously optimistic for the second half of the year.
