Ukraine deploys AI-controlled robot guns in Kyiv to shoot down Russian drones

Ukraine has begun using AI-enabled robot guns in Kyiv to intercept Russia's new jet-powered drones, which are faster and harder to shoot down than older models. The Ukrainian air force spokesman, Yuri Ignat, said the robotic turrets, installed on bridges, have already shot down drones, including the Geran-5. The turrets use optical vision and AI to target drones. Twelve have been installed, with more planned. The system has a limited range of about one kilometer and is part of a broader air defense effort. Ukraine faces a shortage of ammunition, so it is relying on innovative solutions and fighter jets.
