Jannik Sinner pulls out of U.S. Open with knee injury

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner withdrew from the U.S. Open on Friday due to a right knee injury. The Italian has been sidelined since winning Wimbledon last month and skipped warm-up events in Montreal and Cincinnati. Sinner, the 2024 U.S. Open champion, said he needs more time to recover after testing his knee in Monte Carlo. His rival Carlos Alcaraz, who beat him in last year's final, will return from a wrist injury to compete in New York.
