Google launches SynthID Detector web tool to identify AI-generated images, videos, and audio

On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, Google launched SynthID Detector, a public web tool available at synthid.com, that allows users to check if an image, video, or audio file was generated by artificial intelligence. The tool supports content from Google, OpenAI, Nvidia, and Kakao, with Apple to be added soon. This launch follows Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai's May announcement about integrating SynthID into Google Search and Chrome.
