Bulgaria's President Iliana Yotova says Russia's war in Ukraine worsens Black Sea security after drone attacks on ships

In Bulgaria, President Iliana Yotova said on Wednesday that Russia's war in Ukraine has led to a significant deterioration of security in the Black Sea region. This followed drone attacks on two commercial vessels off Bulgaria's coast, which sank one ship and damaged another. The Security Council condemned the attacks and demanded an investigation. Ukraine's President blamed Russia, but Russia denied involvement. The attacks are part of a broader pattern of hybrid attacks attributed to Russia, with an escalation from 59 incidents in March 2025 to over 200 currently.
