Argentina's President Javier Milei gives Britain two weeks to halt Falkland Islands oil drilling or face international court

Argentina's government, led by President Javier Milei, has given Britain a two-week deadline to halt oil drilling near the Falkland Islands. If Britain does not comply, Argentina will take the case to the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in Hamburg. Milei argues that British oil projects violate UN resolutions and international law. Britain's Defense Secretary Wes Streeting responded defiantly, saying Argentina is not capable of taking the islands and Britain will defend them. The dispute over the islands dates back to the 1982 war.
