Dutch rail outage caused by suspected sabotage

In the Netherlands, a major railway outage hit early Tuesday, affecting services around Zwolle, Deventer, and Amersfoort. Prorail, the infrastructure company, said materials deliberately placed on tracks caused track-circuit failures, treating it as possible sabotage. The disruption stranded thousands of passengers during the morning rush hour, and NS said it was unclear when services would return to normal. The incident coincided with the Dutch government's annual budget presentation in The Hague.
