Tourists missing in Nepal make contact with authorities

In Nepal, some tourists reported missing after catastrophic floods have made contact with authorities. The floods, which began on August 26, 2026, have resulted in over 1,118 deaths and left more than 3,900 individuals missing. The Nepal Foreign Ministry confirmed that 324 foreign nationals were rescued, while around 590 remain unaccounted for. Among the missing are Australians, with five confirmed safe, and at least five other foreign tourists have reached out to authorities.
