A New York Times investigation reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not tell his security chiefs about an alleged warning from the United Arab Emirates that Hamas was planning a major attack, during a meeting on October 1, 2023, six days before the October 7 massacre. The warning, reportedly conveyed by UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed in a phone call, was not mentioned in the meeting, according to minutes. Netanyahu has denied receiving such a warning. The report also said the warning did not appear in internal investigations.
