British prosecutors charge Rwandan man Vincent Brown with genocide offenses for 1994 killings
On September 21, 2026, British prosecutors charged Vincent Brown, a 65-year-old Rwandan man living in north London, with genocide-related offenses for his alleged role in the 1994 Rwanda genocide. Brown, formerly known as Vincent Bajinya, faces seven charges, including conduct ancillary to genocide and murder as a crime against humanity. He is accused of directing and inciting acts of murder and genocide. These are the first such charges brought in the UK. Brown is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
