Carney says Canada will emerge stronger from Trump's trade war

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said Tuesday that Canada intends to emerge from its trade war with the United States as a more resilient and independent economy. Speaking at the Canada Investment Summit in Toronto, Carney signaled that Ottawa is prepared to wait for the right conditions rather than rush into a deal with Washington. He also announced plans to seek private investment for Canada's four largest airports. The trade war escalated last month when the U.S. imposed 50% tariffs on $20 billion in Canadian goods, prompting retaliation from Canada. Carney is scheduled to address the European Parliament later Tuesday.
