Trump's Gaza peace plan stalls as Israel expands control and Hamas remains armed
One year after US President Donald Trump's plan to end the Gaza war, the initiative has stalled. The initial ceasefire on October 10, 2025, freed hostages and prisoners, but later phases have not been implemented. Israel has expanded its control to about two-thirds of Gaza, and strikes continue. Aid deliveries are below the plan's targets. Hamas has not disarmed, and Israel rejects a disarmament roadmap. The International Security Force has not been formed. Israeli officials have called for voluntary emigration of Palestinians, but no forced removal is planned.
