Amazon Prime Video to exclusively stream Emmy Awards from 2027 in six-year deal

The Emmy Awards, the top U.S. television honors, will move from broadcast networks to Amazon's Prime Video starting in 2027. The six-year deal, announced on October 6, 2026, ends a 70-year tradition of airing on ABC, CBS, Fox, or NBC. Prime Video will stream the ceremony live in over 200 countries, free of charge. The move reflects the growing dominance of streaming, as viewership for the Emmys has declined. The Television Academy and Amazon aim to expand the show's global reach and create a year-round celebration of television.
