India replaces shot putter Tajinderpal Singh Toor as Asian Games flagbearer after kit fails to arrive
On September 19, 2026, India replaced its male flagbearer for the Asian Games opening ceremony in Nagoya, Japan, because shot putter Tajinderpal Singh Toor had not received his official ceremonial kit. Toor, who was aiming for his third consecutive Asian Games gold, was replaced by kabaddi player Pawan Sehrawat. Shooter Manu Bhaker, a two-time bronze medalist at the Paris Olympics, served as the female flagbearer. The Indian Olympic Association cited a technical issue for the change, while Toor said he was informed of his selection only the day before and could not collect his kit in time.
