Tesco rolls out AI meal-planning assistant to UK customers after employee trial

Tesco, the UK's largest supermarket, has started rolling out an AI meal-planning assistant to its customers after testing it with 280,000 employees. The assistant, which uses Clubcard data, offers personalized recipe ideas and helps customers plan meals based on cost, cuisine, or ingredients they have at home. The feature is being integrated into the Tesco app. This move follows Sainsbury's launch of its AI-powered SmartLists feature. Tesco developed the assistant with Tomoro AI, a UK-based consultancy allied with OpenAI, and has also partnered with Mistral AI.
