Meta removes 3.64 million scam-linked shell pages on Facebook and Instagram with Singapore police help

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, announced on September 23, 2026, that it had removed or restricted over 3.7 million scam-linked entities this year, including 3.64 million shell pages identified in July. The action was aided by intelligence from the Singapore Police Force (SPF), which referred over 20,000 accounts and pages to Meta between January and June. Meta also took action against more than 113,000 entities connected to fraud and scams in the first half of the year, and over 33,600 during the June school holidays. The collaboration aims to dismantle entire scam networks.
