Azerbaijan to reveal energy storage strategy by September's end

Azerbaijan is set to unveil a conceptual approach for energy storage systems by the end of September 2026. Javid Abdullayev, Director of the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources, announced this during the opening of a renewable energy laboratory at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University. The country is working on a regulatory framework for integrating renewable energy and has two existing energy storage systems. Additionally, Azerbaijan is considering pumped hydro storage for the first time, leveraging its water resources in liberated territories.
