Faizon Brandon becomes Tennessee's starting quarterback for the season opener

In Knoxville, Tennessee, Coach Josh Heupel announced that Faizon Brandon will start as quarterback for the No. 20 Volunteers against Furman on September 5. Brandon is the second true freshman to start a season for Tennessee, following Brent Schaeffer in 2004. He earned the position due to his impressive training camp performance and strong command of the offense, having previously led Grimsley High School to two state titles.
