Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accuses Europe of blocking Ukraine peace talks at UN General Assembly

At the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused Europe of blocking efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, saying Europe is doing everything to thwart peace talks supported by the Trump administration. The remarks came as both Russia and Ukraine reported deadly strikes, with at least 16 people killed in the last 24 hours. Lavrov also met with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, the first such meeting since before the war, amid tensions over an attempted drone attack on Leipzig airport.
