Two giant pandas from China arrive in Atlanta for 10-year stay at Zoo Atlanta

Two giant pandas, Ping Ping and Fu Shuang, departed from Chengdu, China, on Sunday morning and arrived in Atlanta, United States, to begin a 10-year stay at Zoo Atlanta. The transfer was part of a joint agreement between the Chinese and American governments, announced by Chinese President Xi Jinping during his state visit to Washington. The pandas, both born in 2020, will re-establish Zoo Atlanta's exhibit after it had been without pandas since 2024. The arrival was met with fanfare, and Chinese veterinarians will stay during quarantine.
