MPF and DPU demand conditions for TikTok's mega data center in Ceará

In Brazil, the Federal Public Ministry and the Public Defender's Office filed a Public Civil Action on September 10, 2026, to prevent the operation of TikTok's Data Center Pecém in Ceará. They require consultation with the indigenous Anacés people and an Environmental Impact Study before the project can proceed. The data center, built by Omnia and Ventos House, is expected to involve R$ 200 billion in investments by 2035.
