Tunisia and Saudi Arabia discuss mutual recognition of halal certificates to boost exports

On September 15, 2026, Tunisia's National Institute for Standardization and Industrial Property (INNORPI) met with a delegation from the Saudi Halal Center in Tunis. The meeting, chaired by INNORPI's Director General Nafaâ Boutiti, focused on strengthening cooperation in halal certification. The main goal was to establish mutual recognition of halal certificates, which would facilitate Tunisian products' access to the Saudi market. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance Tunisia's presence in Gulf markets and boost consumer confidence in Tunisian halal products.
