Iran's 20th RoboCup in Tehran features 2,000 young competitors, including girls' robotics teams

In Tehran, Iran, the 20th annual RoboCup took place, featuring 2,000 participants in 400 teams, including girls competing against boys in robotics football. The event, held at the Grand Mosalla complex, showcased Iran's technological ambitions despite sanctions and regional conflict. Participants as young as 10 designed autonomous robots using sensors or cameras. Fifteen-year-old Elina Rezvanian and her team spent two years on their robots. Iran trains over 200,000 engineers annually and invests in robotics education. Teenage participant Avina Maleki hoped more girls would join and outperform boys.
