Ghana's GRIDCo gives Ejisu encroachers 30 days to vacate high-voltage transmission corridor

In Ghana, the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has given residents, traders, artisans, and drivers operating within its high-voltage transmission corridor at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region 30 days to vacate the area. The notice is part of an intensified exercise to clear encroachments from the transmission Right of Way, which must remain free of structures for public safety and infrastructure protection. GRIDCo's Director of Land Management, Engineer Bismark Anane, emphasized the need for unobstructed access for maintenance and emergency repairs. Affected occupants are appealing for alternative arrangements, while GRIDCo says compensation may be considered for verified impacts.
