Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Vows No Hamas Rule in Gaza at Memorial for Oct 7 Attack

On Monday, October 5, 2026, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attended a state memorial ceremony in Jerusalem marking three years since the Hamas-led attack on October 7, 2023. He vowed there would be no Hamas rule in Gaza and promised to continue targeting those involved in the attack. The attack killed 1,221 people and took 251 hostages. In response, Israel launched a military offensive that has killed over 74,200 people in Gaza. Netanyahu also pledged to keep striking Hezbollah in Lebanon and criticized Iran's leadership, following a joint Israeli-US attack on Iran in February.
