Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrives in New York for UN General Assembly

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in New York on Monday to lead Iran's delegation at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. He held a phone call with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and is scheduled to meet with foreign ministers. The US has imposed restrictions on the delegation, including a ban on luxury purchases. Iran also used Qatari mediation to convey conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which it has choked off since the Middle East war began.
