Four astronauts from US, France, and Russia return to Earth after eight months in space

Four astronauts returned to Earth on Thursday after an eight-month stay at the International Space Station. They splashed down in the Pacific Ocean off Los Angeles, California. The crew included NASA's Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, France's Sophie Adenot, and Russia's Andrey Fedyaev. They had launched in February to replace astronauts sent home early due to illness. Their return was delayed by capsule repairs. During their mission, they conducted spacewalks and celebrated the U.S. 250th birthday. Seven astronauts remain aboard the station.
