Lando Norris calls for one-race ban for Franco Colapinto after Azerbaijan Grand Prix crash
At the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, a late-race safety car restart led to a multi-car crash. Franco Colapinto of Alpine locked up and hit his teammate Pierre Gasly, who then collided with Lando Norris of McLaren. All three drivers retired. Norris, a world champion, called for Colapinto to receive a one-race ban, arguing the FIA should be stricter. Colapinto apologized, admitting his mistake. Other drivers, including Max Verstappen and George Russell, disagreed with the ban call, viewing it as an unfortunate error. George Russell won the race, with Verstappen second.
