The plight of orphaned children is particularly dire, as many are left without adequate care and support. Warda Hijazi, a mother of three, faces immense challenges after losing her husband. She struggles to provide for her children, including Saif, who suffers from kidney paralysis. Warda emphasizes the need for emotional support and stability for her children, who are grappling with grief and loss. The burden of caring for her family weighs heavily on her, yet she feels compelled to continue despite the overwhelming challenges. Samah Abu Amra, another mother affected by the conflict, has become the sole caregiver for her five children after her husband was killed. She expresses the need for more than just temporary assistance; her children require consistent care and emotional support. The stories of Warda and Samah reflect a broader crisis affecting thousands of families in Gaza, where the loss of loved ones and the ongoing violence have created a generation of children in desperate need of help. In response to this humanitarian crisis, organizations like International Networking for Humanitarian (INH) Indonesia are working to raise awareness and support for orphaned children. They organized a running event in Khan Younis to highlight the urgent needs of these children and encourage sponsorship and support from the international community. The event aimed to remind the world of the plight of orphaned children and the importance of providing them with the love and care they have lost due to the war.
