James Rodríguez retires from Colombia national team

James Rodríguez, the Colombian midfielder, has announced his retirement from the Colombia national team after more than 15 years. In a video on social media, he thanked fans and teammates, saying it was an honor to wear the shirt. Rodríguez was the top scorer at the 2014 World Cup and played in several Copa América tournaments. He also mentioned the team's renewal and wished them well. After the 2026 World Cup, he returned to Colombian club football, signing with Atlético Nacional until 2027.
