Kia recalls over 21,000 EV9 SUVs for airbag sensor defect

Kia is recalling 21,290 EV9 SUVs from the 2025 and 2026 model years due to an airbag sensor defect. This issue may prevent the airbag from deactivating when a child is in the front passenger seat, increasing injury risk. The automaker will notify affected owners starting October 20, 2026, and repairs will be performed free of charge.
