Dan Reșitnec, Secretary General of the Romanian Government, announced on Wednesday that protocol expenses for the government's working apparatus were halved during May-July, totaling 291,890 lei compared to 548,139 lei in the same period last year. The reduction was achieved by cutting prolonged analysis meetings and unnecessary protocol services. Reșitnec provided a monthly breakdown showing a sharp decline after he took office, from 95,000 lei in March to 1,800 lei in May. He stated that this is the normal way things should function and that all unnecessary expenses have been reduced or eliminated.
