Denmark and Germany build 18 km Fehmarnbelt tunnel under Baltic Sea with Vietnamese steel structures

The Fehmarnbelt tunnel, connecting Denmark and Germany under the Baltic Sea, is under construction with a total length of 18 km and an investment of about 8 billion USD. The project, part of the EU's TEN-T network, is expected to be completed by 2029. It involves 79 massive precast concrete elements, each weighing up to 73,500 tons, with a total mass exceeding 5.8 million tons. A Vietnamese company is involved in the steel structure segment, meeting European standards. The tunnel will have four road lanes and two railway tracks, designed to last at least 120 years.
