Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to the United States from September 23 to 25, 2026, at the invitation of President Donald Trump. The visit was confirmed by China's Foreign Ministry on Monday, September 21. Xi and Trump are expected to hold talks in Washington on Thursday, their second summit this year. Trade, tariffs, artificial intelligence, Taiwan, and the war in Iran are among the issues expected to be discussed.
