Active-duty soldier's wife deported to Honduras under Trump policies

In the U.S., Cristy Maryori Villafranca-Trejo was deported to Honduras, leaving her husband, Army Sgt. Hedar Leonel Turcios Juarez, to care for their daughter alone. She was detained on July 11, 2023, near Fort Bliss, Texas, and had previously received a final order of removal in 2017 after missing a hearing. The couple discovered her deportation order while applying for her green card after their marriage in 2022.
